Uriah Courtney

Uriah Courtney was another victim of a misidentification.  His case stemmed from the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in San Diego.  In the victim’s drawing of the alleged attacker there was only one distinguishing factor—the man had a goatee.  In the photo array used to make the identification, there was only one suspect with a goatee, Uriah Courtney. The victim identified Uriah and he spent seven years in prison before DNA testing revealed the DNA of the actual attacker on the victim’s clothing.  For more information about Uriah’s case go to:
