Rodney Gupton

Rodney Gupton was another victim of a bad identification.  In 2001, he was at a BBQ when a shooting occurred in another part of town.  Two witnesses identified Rodney as the shooter.

In 2011, one of the witnesses recanted her testimony and identification. She contacted the California Innocence Project and explained that she actually never saw the shooting.  She admitted to lying to the police and lying in court. The identification by the other witness was inconsistent throughout the investigation and trial.
