Convicted of
Possession of a Concealed Weapon
Sentence
28 Years to Life
Released
March 19, 2013
Daniel Larsen was convicted of possession of a concealed weapon based on falsified testimony by two police officers and the failures of his now-disbarred trial attorney in failing to discover as many as nine percipient witnesses, including a former Chief of Police from North Carolina, who saw another man, not Daniel, in possession of the knife. Daniel was sentenced to 27 years-to-life in prison and served 13 of those years before the California Innocence Project proved his innocence and freed him.
